Overview
The Prospectors Gulch 002 Unpatented Placer
Claim is located in the gold bearing Texas Creek drainage.
This claim is the little brother of Prospectors Gulch 001.  This claim has a much smaller total length of creek flowing thru the boundaries of this claim.  Additionally, on the north hillside there are several very small streams that run mostly in the spring that hold gold and silver values as well.
Texas Creek is a known gold bearing stream with lode deposits upstream hosting primarily gold and some silver values.  The gold on this claim is fine to flake gold.
Fine gold can be found 2-3 feet down in the sedimentation layer with an increase in overall gold quantity deeper in the sedimentation layer profile.  Most of the mineral on the surface level is mica, chalcopyrite, and iron pyrite.
This claim is located about 11 miles from the Taylor Park Trading Post.  The road access to the claim would be recommended for only UTV/ATV access.  This rugged road prohibits most common vehicle access to the claim area.

Water depth on Texas Creek can reach up to 6 feet deep.
Any dredge over 3 inches in suction nozzle size will require a Plan Of Operation (POO) permit.  All other smaller dredges may fall under a Notice Of Intent (NOI) permit.  Check with the local Forest Service to discuss your intended operation prior to beginning any work.  Your mining plan may warrant a higher level permit.
Camping
Dispersed Camping is allowed on Texas Creek.  There are dispersed camping areas South of the claim that are more suited to RV style camping.  You may camp in a designated dispersed camping area for up to 14 continuous days.
History
The bottom bottom mile of Texas Creek where it flows in Taylor Res has had significant mining via hydraulic mining and bucket line dredging take place.  This claim is above the old workings by several miles.
