This mine and the underlying Black Hawk vein system have been well documented since the initial discovery in the late 1800's. The mining district is responsible for producing approximately 600,000 USD worth of salable minerals.
The Cincinnati Vein Au Lode Claim is located approximately 25 miles south of the town of Deming and 8 miles Northwest from the town of Columbus.
This Surface piles containing minerals are scattered across the claim with different piles representing different blends of vein material as the vein pinches and swells thru the claim.
Additionally, the precious metals are also associated with plenty of manganese, lead, zinc, and copper to add additional revenue per ton of material processed.
Geology
Located on the Black Hawk vein the Marie mine has a vein width of approximately 4 feet and is comprised of numerous closely spaced veinlets instead of one main zone. Galena, sphalerite, and pyrite are the principle sulfides that are accompanied by considerable quartz and calcite, Gold and silver are present within the veins. Minor argillic alteration extends several inches to several feet outward from the vein into the wall rock.
Surface outcrops our highly oxidized and are the usual assemblage of oxidized lead and zinc minerals with considerable limonite and manganese oxide.
